Over the past two years, my knowledge in journalism of all kinds has been broadened beyond belief and I have gained talents far beyond what I originally anticipated when I signed up for the class. As a journalist, my editing skills have grown the most. I have learned to use Photoshop to do things like use layers, use color replacement and removal tools and more. I have developed skills in Lightroom to edit the saturation, lighting, shadows, grain and clarity of a photo, as well as use radial filters and export for web and print publications. Through the use of Adobe Premiere and Sony Vegas, I have learned how to create clean-looking videos with nice transitions, trim, layer and overlay video, create moving shapes with key frames, and experiment with green screening and motion tracking. In desktop publishing, I have learned how to use Photoshop to design posters and flyers as well as use eDesign to include photography in the yearbook spreads.
