Spring Edition 2014-2015

About: I took this photo for the newspaper at around 8:00 a.m. when the sun was beginning to rise, so the sunlight was a big factor in this shot and I had to get it just right. I didn't want the lighting to distract from his face too much, and I don't think it does.

Yearbook 2014-2015

About: This picture is from one of the best photography experiences I had during my junior year. The leading lines in this picture are great, because they are all pointing the attention of the viewer to the basketball, and makes them wonder about the following moments after the shot was taken.

Yearbook 2014-2015

About: This is another picture from the best photography experience of my junior year. During this game, I just kept snapping pictures, hoping I would catch something good while looking back at my pictures. This play turned around really quickly, and I had to react fast as the players were quickly approaching.

Yearbook 2014-2015

About: This photo of the Middle School Softball pitcher was taken while looking through the fence, and I had to use manual focus in order to ensure that the camera focused on her. I had never taken pictures ata softball game, but it went well since it is easier to adjust a camera for outside settings rather than indoor settings.

Yearbook 2014-2015

About: This photo was taken right after the runner was thrown out and she turned to look back. This shot was completely dependant on timing and would not have been the same half a second later.

Yearbook 2014-2015

About: This picture was taken after the cheerleaders performed at halftime during a Middle School Boys' Basketball game and I was certain that I was going to get no good pictures of them because I was behind them while they were performing and couldn't make it back in time. However I made it over however, in time to capture this as she walked back to the bleachers.

Yearbook 2015-2016

About: I went to the first game of our Varsity Men's Football team season with one of my friends who is also a photojournalist. We were sharing lenses for our camera and I had the standard lens during halftime. I regretted this in the moment, but now I am happy about it because I got this picture.

Yearbook 2015-2016
About: This photo was fun to take because it was taken after the Powder Puff game when the freshman girls prevailed as the winners against the senior girls. In the chaos, the freshman broke apart the trophy and passed the pieces around. I like the lighting in this shot because the light is directly behind a big part of the trophy.

The Pride Newspaper
Fall Edition 2015-2016

About: I used the telephoto lens to take this picture, as I was separated from this scene by a giant group of elementary student that I had to shoot over. This picture came out better than I though it would and really captured the humor of the moment.

The Pride Newspaper
Fall Edition 2015-2016
About: When I took this photo, I wanted to capture as many people as I could and still feel the seriousness and emotion of the photo. One of the seniors was pumping up the senior girls with a pep talk, and they were ready for the game.
